Dr. Brian Thunberg:

Dr. Brian Thunberg graduated from Purdue University in 2005.  He then went on to complete a one year rotating specialty internship and 3-year surgical residency at Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Los Angeles.  Following completion of his residency, he was taken on as a staff surgeon at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Fisher’s, Indiana.  In 2012, Dr. Thunberg became part owner of Bloomington Veterinary Hospital and brought specialty orthopedic and soft tissue surgical services to Bloomington. 

In 2016, Dr. Thunberg decided that he could help more veterinary practices and their patients by bringing his services directly to them.  Therefore, he separated from Bloomington Veterinary Hospital and formed Mobile Animal Surgical Care (M.A.S.C.).  By bringing surgical services to the practice, the patient is able to benefit from the surgical procedure it needs, in the comfort of a familiar setting and familiar people. 

Dr. Thunberg performs a wide range of both orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures.  Some of these procedures include: Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) for stabilizing the ACL deficient stifle, fracture repair, patella luxation correction, splenectomy, gastrointestinal and urinary procedures, and mass removal.  Dr. Thunberg can also perform neurologic surgeries such as hemilaminectomy, dorsal laminectomy, and ventral slot procedures. 

When Dr. Thunberg is not performing surgery, he enjoys spending time with his wife Alison, two children, Melanie and Zachary, two dogs, Elwood and Roxie, three cats, Leon, Jack, and Rose, and hiking in the many state parks that Indiana has to offer.
